'The Hope Of Summer' is an original hand carved and hand printed linocut. It depicts a warm landscape at the height of Summer. Around the border of the print is a hand carved poem that I composed myself that reads… ‘You. Walking through the tall grass, ruddy face, bare feet, pay them no mind the hope of summer beats down. Breathe’. I wanted to capture that feeling of being wild outside in the muggy air when all you have is the open landscape ahead of you.

Linocut is a form of relief printmaking whereby designs are carved into a block of linoleum and ink is rolled on the surface to create the print. Video examples of the printing process can be found on my social media (@stellaboxdesigns).
This linocut was designed and printed by me (Haychley Webb) in my studio in Norwich, Norfolk, England.
