I wanted to start this ‘snail mail’ club as a response to fast, machine made art and consumption - and my anxiety at the months flying by so quickly. I am trying in my own life to live more seasonally - to observe the changing landscapes around me and take time to reflect on how I feel and how I move through the world.

I’ve spent a lot of time researching monthly lore and sketching designs for the first few months of HAG CLUB. I grew up in a home where you sent hand-written ‘thank you’ notes to relatives after birthdays and when I opened my lunchbox as a child I’d find little notes reminding me how much I was loved. As I’ve grown up and created my own home, I realise the value of these thoughtful moments and treasures.

Each monthly letter from HAG CLUB is a reflection of that. There’s something for you, something for them, something to read and something to do. There’s a hand-printed linocut on reflecting the current British month, a small hand-made gift for you to send to a loved one or friend (ie. a gift tag, a card, a token), a letter (written by me looking forward to the month ahead) and a ‘to-do’ (ie. a poem to complete, observations for your next walk, a tradition).
