The WORDS Collection - original linocut prints

Welcome to the WORDS collection of original hand carved and hand printed linocut prints. Weaving words and poetry into my art has always been a big part of my inspiration for creating.

Please see the descriptions below for sizes and details as these linocut vary in size and paper types (from tiny worlds to handmade papers).

All linoprints on the dropdown are linked to their photographs but if you have any questions, please pop me a message! All linocut prints are carefully packaged and will arrive unframed and unmounted.

'Poetry ink' - 5 by 7 inches on white Somerset paper - limited edition of 50 - this linoprint is inspired by Merlin scribbling on parchment in the thick woodlands of Medieval England.

'You build me up' - 4.5 by 4.5 inches on yellow Nepalese Lokta paper - this is an open edition inspired by a cheerful phrase, hoping to be given as a gift to yourself or someone else.

'Changin'' - 4 inches by 3.5 inches (approx.) open edition on white Somerset paper - inspired by Bob Dylan.

'Headstrong' - 4 by 3 inches (approx.) on white handmade paper - limited edition of 100 - inspired by my journey as an Artist and the determination to stick with things I love to do.

'Childish Bounds' - 6 by 6 inches on off-white Japanese HoSho paper - open edition of 100 - this linoprint is inspired by Elizabeth Barrett Browning's poem 'The Deserted Garden'.

'Vita Nova' - 4.5 by 6 inches inches on tanned Kitakata paper - open edition - the words mean 'New Life' and it was created in Spring inspired by new births.

'I'll wait for you' - 4.5 by 6 inches (approx.) on white Somerset paper - this linoprint is an open edition in memory of those we have lost and the momentary peace from this that a bird visit can bring.

'Carrow House' is a 6 by 10 inch (approx). limited edition of 30 linocut prints, printed on white Somerset paper. It is inspired by Carrow House in Norwich, home of the Colman family of Colman's Mustard. The poem is an original of mine that has been carved into the block, weaving words around community and mystery through the design.

'Beside the stream' is an A4 variable limited edition of 100 prints, printed on off-white Japanese HoSho paper and is an adaptation inspired by William Wordsworth's poem 'I wandered lonely as a cloud'.

All prints are signed, titled and numbered/marked as limited or open edition by the Artist.

Linocut is a type of traditional relief printmaking whereby designs are carved by hand into lino blocks - the block is then inked with professional standard ink, paper applied on top and it is then pressed by hand.

This linocut is an original and is carefully hand printed in Norwich. The copyright of this print is retained by the Artist.
