Learn how to make your own linocut print in this workshop for complete beginners.

 

I believe anyone can learn linocut printmaking. You don't need an artistic background; I provide example designs for you to use. In my workshop you’ll learn step-by-step how to make a simple A5 linocut print, the start of your linocut journey. We will use black ink and a variety of different papers.

 

You’ll begin by drawing your own design or using one of the designs provided and transferring it to a linocut block. As a group we’ll go through the stages of carving, inking and printing your block either by hand or using a small press. We'll talk about tools and techniques and you can ask as many questions as you like. Participants will leave the workshop with their carved lino block and their printed design.

 

All tools and materials are provided. The workshop is very hands-on, with everything explained in demonstrations as you go along in a supportive and friendly atmosphere.

 

Please note the following when booking onto this workshop:

 

  • Workshop tickets are non-refundable. If you are no longer able to attend your booked workshop, you must let me know at least one week prior to the workshop. There will be a 25% administration charge (of your ticket price) to move you onto the next workshop. If you notify me less than one week prior to your workshop, I will not be able to move your workshop booking. There are no exceptions to this.
  • This venue is not fully accessible and requires you to walk up a flight of stairs (the lift at the venue is currently out of order).
  • Physical tickets for the workshop are not sent out. Your confirmation email acts as your ticket. You will be sent a reminder email approximately one week before your booked workshop date.
