This is a hand printed linocut called 'Playtime'.
 
It was inspired by a photograph I took of a lovely kitten called Stanley at the Cat House in Norwich. He was playing with his feather ball on a fluffy yellow rug. This print was made using the reduction print technique of linocut printmaking.
 
It’s a limited edition print of 30. It is numbered, signed and titled.
 
This print measures approximately 6 inches by 6 inches. It is printed onto white Somerset paper by hand using a wooden spoon and a small baren.
 
It comes mounted in an acid-free white mount meauring 8 inches by 8 inches.
 
Linocut is a form of relief printmaking whereby designs are carved into a block of linoleum. As all linocut prints are original, they are all unique and have slight variations.
